Itinerary

Day 1. Board our jet for the overnight flight to Ireland.

Day 2. A whole day in wonderful Dublin. In this 1,000 year old city, with a literary history that includes James Joyce, Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw, we will visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, burial site of Jonathan Swift, and Trinity College with the world-famous Book of Kells.

Day 3. West to the rugged Atlantic Coast and County Galway. The scenic vistas here are unforgettable with its wild, natural beauty, mountains, lakes, tumbling streams and panoramic views.

Day 4. South along the Atlantic Coast to the mighty Cliffs of Moher and into County Kerry to Kenmare. This lovely village is located on the east shore of Lough Leane in Killarney National Park, surrounded by the Macgillykuddy´s Reeks mountain range. A spectacular Irish setting, this is the gateway to Ireland's most famous natural wonder, the Ring of Beara, a circular scenic road meandering past some of the most beautiful vistas in the world.

Day 5. The Ring of Beara, on the Iveragh Peninsula, is our route today. The drive along the coast offers ever-changing vistas of the Atlantic and of sky blue inland lakes.

Day 6. East this morning to the Rock of Cashel, where St. Patrick preached his sermons and converted King Angus to Christianity in 450, to Kilkenny, Ireland's most outstanding medieval city, on the banks of the River Nore. We tour the ancient Kilkenny Castle and the gardens. Begun in 1192, this magnificent castle chronicles the history of Ireland from the 12th to the 19th century.

Day 7. Northeast past the lush green of the Wicklow Mountains back to Dublin. We will have time to visit that last minute museum, the Guinness Brewery or to find the final Irish gifts before our Farewell Dinner this evening.

Day 8. Transfer to the Dublin Airport for our flight back to the USA.
