Itinerary
Day 1: Board our jet for the overnight flight to Europe.
Day 2: After arrival we transfer into the magical city of Copenhagen for a leisurely afternoon.
Day 3. Copenhagen: A city tour acquaints us with the highlights of the city, including a chance to visit the Tivoli Gardens, the Little Mermaid and the Carlsberg Glyptotek. This afternoon we transfer to the ship for our overnight cruise to Oslo, Norway.
Day 4. After we arrive in Oslo, capital of Norway, we have a tour of this wonderful city. You may want to visit also the Royal Palace, the City Hall or the Akershus Fortress. Overnight in Oslo.
Day 5. We take the train across the tundra to Flam, a 4 hour journey with spectacular photography possibilities. After Myrdal we change to another train to take us over the Flambana mountain to Flam.
Day 6. This morning is an enjoyable walk through the Flam valley. In the afternoon we take the express ship through the Sognefjord, largest in Norway, to the mountain paradise of Bergen, Norway. Overnight Bergen.
Day 7. A day in Bergen with the Floibanen funicular that takes us to the top of the Floi mountian. Afterwards time to discover the joys of Bergen. Overnight Bergen.
Day 8: Fly to Stockholm, capital of Sweden and transfer to the hotel. A walking tour acquaints us with this lovely old town and its northern architecture and culture.
Day 9: A full day in Stockholm to visit the art museums with the included City Card or the magnificent waterfront. Later today we take an overnight cruise across the Baltic Sea to the capital of Finland, Helsinki.
Day 10. In Helsinki this morning, a sightseeing tour takes us past all the wonders of this town, including the Senate Square, the Uspenski Cathedral, the Parliament Building, the Sibelius Monument and the Olympic Stadium, site of the summer games nearly 60 years ago. Late in the afternoon we return to the harbor for our return cruise to Stockholm.
Day 11. Arrival back in Stockholm this morning. Either transfer to the airport for flight to the USA if time or an additional night in Stockholm before returning the following morning, Day 12. Sept 4.
