Itinerary
Day 1. Board our jet for the overnight flight to MUNICH, GERMANY.
Day 2. A relaxing afternoon in the Alpine village of RUHPOLDING in the heart of the ALPS.
Day 3. Into the Bavarian National Park today to visit BERCHTESGADEN. We´ll take an unforgettable ride up to the mountain top to visit KEHLSTEIN, Hitler´s famed Eagle´s Nest of World War II and visit the town of Berchtesgaden.
Day 4. Begin the day with a hike on one of the area´s beautiful mountain paths. This afternoon we cross Lake Chiemsee by ship for a visit to one of “Mad” King Ludwig´s masterpiec
Day 5. MUNICH´S OKTOBERFEST. Celebrate the world´s most famous party in the heart of Munich, or shop the elegant boutiques or explore the world class museums! Enjoy the music, the pretzels, the festival and the “Gemütlichkeit!” We´ll also have a walking tour of the Alte Stadt, the old city, and see the medieval Our Lady´s Church, the neo-gothic City Hall and the Glockenspiel.
Day 6. The Alpine village of TRAUNSTEIN and its famous brewery is our destination this morning. Later we take a tour of the famous “Hofbräu” brewery.
Day 7. Across the border this morning into AUSTRIA to visit the city known for Mozart, the “Sound of Music” and luscious tortes, SALZBURG. Our walking tour takes us past St. Peters, the Salzburg Cathedral, the Peterskellar, a restaurant since 803!, and many of the sites of the famous movie.
Day 8: South into the Swiss Alps to the heart of the country, Lake Lucerne. Along the lake sits the incomparable city of Lucerne, surrounded by towering, glistening snow-capped Alps. A walking tour takes us up to the Glacier Gardens, back into the city market place and for a view of the Kapell Bridge, symbol of the city. Take a boat cruise, enjoy lunch at an outdoor cafe or visit the Picasso museum.
Day 8. Transfer to the airport for our flight back to the USA
